Charles R. Hailey, 61, of Burleson, brother of Mrs. R.W. Kelley of Abilene, died at 6 p.m. in his home after a lengthy illness. Services are at 1 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church in Burleson.

The Rev. James E. Daniel of Richardson will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Van Houser, pastor of First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Fort Worth.

Born Dec. 24, 1918, in Wichita Falls, he married the former Frieda Reiners April 11, 1947, in Bremen, Germany. He served 29 years in the U.S. Army, was a World War II and Korean War veteran, and retired in January 1968. He was employed by the Fort Worth Post Office from 1969 until retiring in 1979.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Jane Ford, Christine Henderson and Carla Hughes, all of Burleson; two sons, Wesley and James, both of the home; a sister, Mrs. Kelley of Abilene; seven grandchildren; several nieces and a nephew.
