Funeral Services Held Wed.
for Mrs. Martha Jane Reed

Funeral services were held for Mrs. Martha Jane Reed at the Harrell Funeral Home Wednesday, July 9th, at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Ollen Sommerville officiating, assisted by Rev. Evlyn Vadem. Burial was in the Old Dublin Cemetery.

Mrs. Reed died July 8, at 5:30 a.m. at the age of 83 years, four months and five days. She was born March 3, 1869, in Butler County, Alabama. She moved to Texas when she was three years of age near Brady, Texas, where she was reared. She was the youngest daughter of Rev. J.D. Worrell.

She was married to Perry Richard Reed on Aug. 28, 1889. To this union was born two sons and one daughter. Mr. Reed passed away in 1936. Mrs. Reed moved to Dublin in 1900.

She was converted at the age of 15 in the Methodist church. She received the Baptism in the Holy Spirit and joined the Assembly of God Church in 1913 and has been a worker in the church and supported the church faithfully.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Lola Hailey, Dublin; four grandchildren, Horace P. Hailey, Fort Worth; Mrs. Bernice Kelley, Abilene, Charles Roy Hailey, Ft.Lewis, Washington; Lola Blanche Reed, Dallas; five great-grandchildren, Charles Richard Hailey, Martha Lois Hailey, Julia Kelley, Janie Hailey and Christine Hailey and a number of nieces and nephews. Out of town relatives and friends present were: Mrs. Marie Cason, Lamesa; Mrs. Pauline Gideon, Snyder; Leonard Carnes, Snyder; Danny Trotter, Wales, Wisconsin; Jack Kruse, Ira, Texas; Mrs. Sara Tinsley, Ira; Dr. Hubert Harrison, Houston and Mrs. H.V. Harrison; R.W. Kelley, Abilene; and Mrs. Paul Howell, Stephenville.
