This INDENTURE made the 17th day of January in the year of our Lord 1829, Between John Hailey Jr. and Josiah Hailey both of the County of Anson and State of North Carolina Witnessth that the sd. John Hailey at or before this sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt is hereby acknowledged hath bargained sold aliened [enfeoffed?] and confirmed and by these presents do bargain sell alien [enfeoff?] convey and confirm unto the sd. Josiah Hailey his heirs and assigns forever a certain piece or parcel of land lying and being in the County of Anson aforesaid and being part of a tract of land formerly owned by the widow Sarah Fields and his children and beginning at a stake in the run of the branch So of Henry Fields Dwelling House and where the line of the tract of sd. Sarah Fields and Ingrams line formerly David Liles land cross the sd. Branch and Ingrams line formerly David Liles land cross the sd. Branch and runs with and as sd. line No 15 degress Wt, to the line of the Permenters land that joins the sd. Ingrams land with the sd. Permenters line the course supposed to be South 75 deg. Wt. 24 chains or as far as the Fields land West on that course to the line of some other tract not the fields with yhat line So. 10 Et. So as it inclide all the long fild then to --- all the aforesaid Branch then down the various courses of sd. Branch to the beginning containing by estimation 60 acres more or less including the greater part of 7 acres laid off for Henry Fields and not intended to be conveyed in this title. To have and to hold the aforesaid land with all its ways woods waters and waters courses unto the sd. Josiah Hailey and his heirs and assigns forever and the sd. Jno. Hailey his heird Exers. and Admrs do by these presents warrant and defend the aforesaid land and premises unto the sd. Josiah Hailey his heirs and assigns forever (except the part of 7 acres aforesaid) against the lawful claim of any person or persons whatsoever. In Witness the sd. John Hailey hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal the day and year first above writen. Signed sealed and delivered in presence of

State of North Carolina, Anson County. I Jon. Hailey Senr. for and inconsideration of the sum of five shillings --- to me in hand paid I relinquish all my right and title or claim of this written within mentioned land with the exception therein specified to my son Josiah Hailey this 17th day of January 1829. Anson January 8, 1830. Then this deed was duly proven in open Court by Lorinzo Dow Hailey and ordered to be registered.
