This INDENTURE made this 5th day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy nine between William Haly Sr. of Anson County and State of N.C. of the one part and Willuam Haly Junr. of the County & State aforesaid of the other part witnesseth that the said William Haly Senr. for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred pound current money to him in hand paid by the said William Haly Jr. the receipt whereof the said William Haly Sr. doth hereby acknowledge he the said William Haly Sr. have granted bargained and sold aliened and confirmed and by these presents doth grant bargain and sell alien and confirm unto him the said William Haly Jr, his heirs and assigns forever all all that piece or parcel of land situated on the south west side of Pee Dee River beginning at a stake at the end of William Kemps fourth line among 1 hickory one post oak and 2 pines pointers standing on the east side of the flat rock branch of the old mill creek and runs thence N 70 W. 26 poles to a stake in or near Thomkins line among 1 red oak and 2 pines pointers then S 71 W203 poles then N 24 E 277 poles to and beyond a black oak Diggses corner then S 58 E 217 poles then S 72 poles to Kemps 4th line then W 80 poles with said line to the first station containing 250 acres as to him granted by patent dated Jan. 22, 1773. And also all treees woods underwood titles Commons Common of Pastures profits commodites advantages hereditaments ways waters and appurtenances whatsoever to the said messuage and land above mentioned belonging or anywise appertaining and also the reversion and reversions remainder and remainders rents and services of said premises and of every part thereof and all the estate right title interest claim and demand whatsoever of him the said William Haly Sr. of in and to the said messuage and premises and every part thereof to have and to hold the said messuage or tenement and all and singular the premises above mentioned and every part and parcel thereof with the appurtenances unto the said William Haly Junr. his heirs and assigns the said messuage or tenement or premises or every part thereof against him and his heirs and against all and every other person and persons whatsoever to the said William Haly Junr. his heirs and assigns shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents in witness whereof he the said William Haly Senr. hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal the day and year first above written.
